Getting StartedTokens and plans

Tokens and plans

You pay for AI nodes with tokens. Your org has one token balance, and all its members use it.

See your tokens

The header shows the token balance of your org. For more details, open the avatar menu and click Plan and billing.

Held by running nodesThe tokens that running nodes keep until they are done.

How a run uses tokens

  1. Before a run, tabletop shows “up to” a number of tokens next to Run. This is the most that the run can use.
  2. When a node starts, tabletop holds the most tokens that the node can use.
  3. When the node is done, tabletop takes only the real cost. The rest of the held tokens come back.
  4. If a node fails or you cancel it, the held tokens come back.

Some nodes cost no tokens, such as Preview, Slice Image and the sprite nodes. A node that uses your own API key costs no tokens either.

Get tokens

WayTokens
A new account100 tokens, one time.
A planHobby and Pro give tokens each month.
A token packAn Owner or an Admin buys a pack in Plan and billing > Token packs.

Pack tokens never expire. The plan tokens go first. See the numbers in Plans and limits.

Set a monthly limit

An Owner or an Admin can stop the org from using too many tokens in a month.

  1. Open the avatar menu and click Plan and billing.
  2. In Monthly token cap, type the most tokens for each month. Leave it empty for no cap.
  3. Click Save.

When the org owes tokens

In rare cases, an org can owe tokens. Then Plan and billing shows “The org owes” and a number of tokens. Runs that pay with tokens stop until a purchase pays it. Runs that use your own API keys still work.

Plans

Each org has a plan: Free, Hobby or Pro. The plan sets the limits of the org, such as the number of workflows and members. See Plans and limits.
